Stewart joined Engitix in May 2026, leading biomarker strategy across our oncology andanti-fibrosis programmes and bringing deep scientific insight into each programme to shape how we design and deliver our biomarker work as the ECM platform progresses toward the clinic.

Stewart joins us with close to 30 years' experience in drug development and deep expertise in translational science and biomarkers. He has built and led biomarker platform teams across multiple technologies, and served as biomarker lead on clinical programmes from Phase 1 through Phase 3.

He comes to Engitix from Johnson & Johnson, where he led the Discovery and Translational Sciences Team in Interventional Oncology, providing translational support to advance the clinical pipeline and driving the development and progression of the preclinical portfolio. Before that,Stewart spent more than 22 years at GSK in roles of increasing seniority, most recently as Senior Director in the Clinical Biomarker Group, Clinical Pharmacology and Experimental Medicine.
