Engitix is seeking a Bioinformatician with hands-on experience in developing and performing data analyses to support drug discovery and development.  Having just closed our $54M Series A funding round, we are looking to expand our existing bioinformatics capabilities to support our novel drug discovery pipelines.

Who we are

Engitix is a growing biotech company based in White City Place, West London. We are dedicated to developing better therapies for advanced fibrosis and solid tumours by leveraging our pioneering extracellular matrix (ECM) platform. Our platform allows the synthesis of realistic in vitro 3D models that serve as tools to transform our ability to identify new targets and biomarkers, determine mechanisms of action and more accurately predict the efficacy of therapeutic candidates.

Selected candidates will

  • Work closely with Engitix scientists and external collaborators to help design experiments, gather requirements and iterate solutions
  • Validate the quality of datasets
  • Deliver analyses and contribute and contribute to decision making using standardised data pipelines
  • Develop and test MVP analysis pipelines
  • Design innovative algorithms and visualizations to generate actionable biological insight from multi-omics data
  • Set bioinformatics standards to ensure high quality across all team members
  • Work alongside and support our Software development team

What you’ll need to succeed

As well as strong communication, organisational and time management skills, you should have:

  • Strong programming/scripting skills in R
  • 2+ years experience working as a Bioinformatician in an industry setting (e.g., biotech/pharma)
  • Experience of performing analyses in at least one of the following areas:-
    • RNAseq; especially scRNAseq or spatial transcriptomics
    • Multiomics
    • Pooled CRISPR screening
    • Target and/or Biomarker discovery and validation
    • Bespoke data analyses
  • Experience working in Oncology, or Fibrosis (advantageous)
  • Experience with Python (advantageous)
  • Ability to work independently
